FROM
THE DESK OF THE GENERAL MANAGER THIS
IS ANOTHER RIVERSIDE RUMBLINGS EVERYTHING
LOOKING GOOD FOR 2008 AT RIVERSIDE
Everything is looking good for the 2008 racing season at Riverside
Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire. The marketing is coming along very
nicely, with several new names coming to join us in 2008. We have over 80
teams already registered for 2008 including 20 Late Model teams. Last year on
this date we had just 51 registered racers. This does not include crewmember
licenses. It appears that we are going to have another great season at
Riverside with good fields of cars in all divisions. NEW
SPONSORS HEADLINE RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY
More new sponsors invade Riverside Speedway for 2008 as Kids Only
Daycare becomes the new title sponsor for the Daredevil Youth racers. We
welcome the Leblanc family to the Riverside family. Also joining Riverside for
2008 will be Monster Energy and The Vermont Milk Company. We have also reached
an agreement with Passumpsic Savings Bank to once again be our Point Fund and
50/50 sponsor for 2008. Bean’s Home Center from Lyndonville, Vermont, is
another sponsor that will be joining us in 2008. NEW
HANDICAPPING PROCEDURE IN PLACE
Riverside Speedway has a new handicapping procedure in place for the
2008 racing season. The new procedure can be found on our website at www.riversidespeedway.org.
Pit Steward and Chief Handicapper, Doug Farnsworth, and myself sat down and
came up with a new system that we feel is fairer than the old one. SECURE
YOUR NUMBER!!
Several race teams that ran in 2007 and are planning on running at
Riverside Speedway in 2008 still have not filed their license application.
Remember, your number is not secured if you do not have a license. License
fees go up April 1, 2008. Take care of it ASAP. SLABS
NOW AVAILABLE
Many people that had slabs in 2007 have not renewed them for 2008. You
had until March 1, 2008 to get your paperwork in and all slabs had to be paid
in full by April 30, 2008. All un-purchased slabs are now for sale. Forms are
available on our website, www.riversidespeedway.org.
First come, first serve basis. OWEN
WIMBLE SETS SIGHTS ON LMS CHAMPIONSHIP!
Waitsfield, Vermont’s, “Goin” Owen Wimble has confirmed that he
will make an all out assault on the 2008, North Country Ford, Late Model
Championship. Wimble, who is 60 years young, has decided that he will set
aside his new LMS car that he purchased last season, to run his twenty year
old mount that he has upgraded for this year. Wimble has a lot more confidence
in “Old Faithful” and feels that this car has another championship left in
it. Wimble is ready to challenge 2007 champ, Corey Mason for the title. Over
twenty LMS cars have registered to compete at Riverside for 2008. JOB
APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING APRIL 15, 2008
There will be a few job openings available at Riverside Speedway this
season. There will be a couple of openings for infield track crew, and kitchen
help. Watch our website for listings. ATTENTION
