RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY LOSES ANOTHER GOOD FRIEND
Riverside Speedway lost another huge supporter this past Monday afternoon. Steve Barker, father of Dwarf Car driver, Jim Barker passed away due to complications from diabetes.
Most of us will remember this giant of a man with the Maine drawl as an avid supporter of Dwarf Car racing and Riverside Speedway. Steve would drive all the way from Bridgton, Maine to help out and watch his son compete. Steve was an avid leader and instrumental in the growth of Dwarf Car racing at Riverside and throughout the Northeast. If he wasn’t working on Jim’s car, his nose was buried in someone else’s car, trying to lend a helping hand.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 20 from 2-4pm, and 6-8pm at the Wentworth Funeral Home in Bridgton, Maine. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 2pm, at the Bridgton Methodist Church in Bridgton, Maine.
Cards of remembrance may be sent to Jim Barker, 9 Ashlind Drive, Meredith, NH 03253.
