LALEME STRIKES AGAIN AT RIVERSIDE

The weather finally broke late in the day at the P.A.S.S. sanctioned Riverside Speedway last Saturday night, leaving a fast track, and some of the best racing of the season for the fans that stuck it out and waited for the event to start.

Winners on KC Rental Night included Doug Laleme, Brian Gosselin, Shawn Swallow, Dayna Randall, Benjamin Belanger, Jesse Switser and Jamie Swallow Jr.

The Optical Expressions Outlaw Sportsman had a couple of new cars in the pits this past weekend as the division is starting to catch on. It took Doug Laleme twenty-three and a half laps to get to the front of the feature event, but when it was all said and done, he nailed down his third win of the season. It was no easy task as Reggie Theroux brought his “A” game to the track but had to settle for second spot. Third through fifth included Steve Patnaude, David Ofsuryk Jr. and Kenny Marier. Laleme also won the qualifying round.

Brian Gosselin won an exciting Budweiser Super Stock main event as he edged out multi-feature winner Nathan Swallow at the stripe. Luke Shannon was right on the winner’s heels as well but settled for third. Jason Kenison and Brian Middleton rounded out the top five. Allyn Briggs, Gosselin and Shannon won the three preliminary events.

Shawn Swallow made a great move on the last lap, and grabbed the lead from rookie Andrew Fecteau and secured his point lead for another week in the River Bend RV Street Stocks. Fecteau was followed by Michael Smith, Chris Caron and Tori Delabruere. Kevin Whittum Jr. and Alex Theroux won their qualifiers.

Dayna Randall kept her hot streak in tact as she grabbed the lead late in the race and rolled to victory in the Leo Enos Landscaping Angels. Mary Eastman, Miranda Gervais, Linda Ball and Jen Terrill completed the top five.

It was a tough night for the Kids Only Daycare Daredevils, as they were plagued with cautions in the Rookie Division. When it was all said and done, Benjamin Belanger carried the checkers ahead of Jerrad Ainsworth, Nick Gilcris, Nick Miller and Aaron Poulin.  The Veterans went green to checkers and it was Jesses Switser picking up the win. Kyle Pembroke, Brandon Lambert, Brett Gervais and Dilyn Switser placed second through fifth.

The final event of the night was the Jiffy Mart Cyclones. A new winner emerged as Jamie Swallow Jr. grabbed the lead on lap twenty and never looked back. Loren Vear, Rick Utley Jr., Anthony Hill and Jeff Ainsworth followed him home.
